Anyone who lives in or close to Vancouver knows the cost of housing is a steep, constantly-moving escalator. Because of this, more millennials are making it work in areas outside the city (and loving it) in communities like New Westminster, Surrey, Squamish, Victoria and Steveston (among others). To meet the changing needs of these communities, new restaurants, unique cafes, galleries, breweries and parks have sprung up in these more affordable areas.
In the latest installment of Vancity Asks, I’m on the search for a new community to call home and find out what millennials living in New Westminster and Surrey say makes their communities a great place to consider living:
Surrey & New West are just two of a number of vibrant communities in the Lower Mainland to call home. They all have their pros & cons, so we’ve enlisted some locals to help decide which community may work for you.
