Like any person, I love a good deal. But what makes me even more excited is a product that is dual purpose and economical. Over the past year I have experimented with apple cider vinegar as part of my health and beauty regime and have been blown away by how amazing this stuff is. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself.
Here are my top seven ways to use apple cider vinegar to sustain a health and as a substitute for beauty products.
1. Toner
Apple cider vinegar is a natural astringent, so it makes a great toner. Just mix equal parts of the vinegar and water and apply it to your skin with a cotton ball.
2. Shine your hair
No need to buy a pricey salon product to make your hair shine. Apple cider vinegar works great to dissolve leftover product residue. Mix equal parts water and vinegar and apply it to your hair after shampooing. Then rinse and dry your hair. This DIY rinse also works to remove dandruff (I tested this on my partner).
3. Whiten your teeth
If you have stubborn stains on your teeth, rubbing apple cider vinegar directly on your teeth can help. Just be sure to rinse with water afterwards and don’t do it too often because it can break down tooth enamel.
4. Relieve sore muscles
Did you strain your muscles exercising? Relief is in your kitchen cupboard. Just add three cups of apple cider vinegar to your bath water and soak for 30 minutes. This will relax you and relieve those aching muscles.

5. Gas relief
No need to buy the pink stuff; unfiltered apple cider vinegar and honey will do the trick. Just mix one teaspoon of vinegar and one teaspoon of honey into a cup of water and drink.
6. Stop hiccups
Simply swallow a teaspoon of this stuff and your hiccups should disappear.
7. Naturally lower your cholesterol
If you’re hesitant to start cholesterol reducing medications, you might want to give unfiltered apple cider vinegar a chance. Some studies have shown it may lower cholesterol. To try it: mix two teaspoons of vinegar into a cup of apple or grapefruit juice and drink one cup daily.
